Amazing weather, great friends, good times...that pretty much sums up our memorial day weekend! I was in Jamie's (a college

roommate) wedding down in NC so we packed up and left thursday night after work, we drove (well not so much WE, Brian did all of the driving) straight through arriving at 615AM. The bride and groom rented a house right on the beach for all of their friends to stay at for the weekend. This

house was incredible. One night there were 25 or so of us staying there thats how big it was. 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms and plenty of

floor space :) What an amazing experience for everyone...hanging out, enjoying the weather and each others company...just what jamie and matt wanted. It was super relaxed. I guess it's hard to be stressed in a place like that. The ceremony took place about 20 yards down the beach from the house. What a great place to get married. The scenery was surreal. we all walked down the sandy aisle barefoot including the bride. Strangers on the beach turned their chairs around to watch and listen and little kids sat indian style about 5 feet behind us. The weather couldn't have been more perfect!!! It was short and very sweet (the grooms father performed the ceremony). I've never seen Jamie happier, in the words of my husband "she was giddy!". After pictures we got into a van and headed to an art gallery in Wilmington. Everything moved so smoothly...most brides can name something that went wrong the day of their wedding but I can't think of one thing Jamie could say! It took place outdoors on a patio and was very non traditional. They are the only ones that were announced, there was no cake cutting, no bouquet toss. And to be honest, if they did do all of that stuff, I don't think it would have flowed with the rest of the day. that girl knew what she was doing! Every table had a different kind of cake on it...after dinner servers came around and cut the cakes. We were encouraged to go around and sample different ones. It was such a great idea. we had plenty of dancing time, and we definitely took advantage! The day after we went out to breakfast with some old and new friends and then hung out on the beach until we started our drive back around 3. Thirteen hours later we were home and still haven't stopped talking about what an amazing weekend! How many people can say they were able to share a beautiful house on a beach with 20 friends for four days enjoying the sun and the sand, playing in the waves, cooking out, and enjoying a few beverages...better yet, how many people can describe that as their wedding weekend?? Truly amazing. Oohhh, another great moment...a bunch of us were playing around in the waves (did you know NC is known for surfing?? i didn't...), and we spotted some dolphins swimming not too far away...great end to a great weekend!! here are some pics...jealous???
