All that New England has to offer in the fall...
Pumpkin picking, apple cider donuts, cold walks, beautiful foliage, fun with family and friends, and Halloween!!! We've been pretty busy these last couple of weekends doing all that we can to enjoy the fall with Payton. With both of us working 6 days a week, Sundays are really our only days to hang out as a family. (a little bitter at the moment as I am writing this from my office...on a SUNDAY). The first Sunday in October we went to Maddie Pumerantz's Baptism, the next Sunday we had a wedding, the next Sunday, we went pumpkin picking and walked through the corn maze at lyman orchards, the next Sunday we spent some time at the house cleaning up the back yard, then the last Sunday in October was obviously Halloween! Fun times, but I have to say, I'll be pretty excited when our Sundays consist of not much more than, relaxing mornings, brunch, and relaxing afternoons! I'll post pics soon, gotta go!!

Exciting stuff!
So we bought a house last week...crazy! If anyone knows someone looking to rent a beach house next summer in Branford, send them our way! We're pretty psyched to be home owners - although, the sale was final last friday and we probably won't be able to get there for another three weeks! We had to work all weekend last weekend and Brian is killing me with Sunday football meetings - uggh. As if 6 days a week wasn't enough. But that's ok, he's really enjoying it and as crazy as it is, we're managing. Payton is doing great, coming up on her 9 month birthday. Time really is flying. I'm at work so I don't have my camera with me to upload pics but I'll post some after this crazy weekend. Jess and Rob get married tomorrow, then we have a Christening for little Maddie Pumerantz on Sunday and plans to hang out with the Canadiens at some point on Sunday night. Yet another crazy but fun weekend! p.s. Payton is sleeping an average of 13 hours straight at night - AWESOME!

Sleepy monkey...
Payton's first fair...
Swimming and music :)
Payton has now started swimming lessons, and music class. She loves both of them! Probably swimming a bit more though :) She's a little fish. We go to the Y on Friday mornings to swim and splash around with Teacher Glen for half an hour. She went on the little tykes slide last week (with some assistance of course). I think she was kind of upset she couldn't go by herself! On Tuesday morning we went to our first Music Together class (www.mymusicroom.net if you're interested in seeing what it's all about). She loved it...even started bouncing up and down when the music came on! They let them shake instruments, bang on drums, etc. Most of the kids in our class are around 2 or 3 and have been going since they were Payton's age. So that's what's new and exciting in the life of Payton these days! She had her first cold last week so that was a bit rough, plus we also think she was teething pretty bad b/c of the large quantity of drool coming out of her little mouth! The poor kid had a runny nose for a week straight. But after sleeping 12 hours straight the other night, she woke up feeling great! So she survived not only her first cold but her first ear infection too :) I posted a pic of her at swimming class...

Aruba!!
After a year of planning and anticipation, our Aruba trip is over :( But it was awesome! Payton could not have been any better. She's definitely our daughter, a little traveler!! First thing is first, the plane ride. We were given hope that there was an empty seat next to us so that meant we could bring her carseat and she could have a free seat - our hopes were dashed when they realized they overbooked. Not sure how that happens, but it does. So after getting her all settled and buckled up, we had to take her out and give up the seat. Bummer. Although it would have made things like napping, much easier, it all worked out just fine. My mom was able to rock her to sleep and she took an hour nap, after that, she just hung out. We didn't even really have to pass her around that much. She just played with anything and everything, mostly the plastic cups and napkins, not really with the crap load of toys and books we brought for her. But hey, whatever works! She enjoyed looking out the window and talking and looking at other people. She did a lot of waving during this vacation. We had a direct flight which was perfect - and as soon as we landed, I kid you not, she started screeching! We never heard her make this sound before, it was hilarious. It was as if she knew we were on vacation in Aruba and was soooo excited! She was cracking us all up the entire way to the resort. We stayed in our timeshare and realized when we got there that we got upgraded to two ajoining one bedroom suites...bonus. She was definitely exhausted from the long day of traveling but wasn't cranky at all. We were able to keep her on somewhat of a schedule and she slept great the entire week. Never woke up in the middle of the night, and took great naps, usually on the beach! Lucky chick :) I won't recap every single day but some of the highlights were going out to eat, playing in the sand, swimming in the crystal clear ocean, swimming in the pool, and really just hanging out. We would relax in the morning and after her breakfast she would take a nap then we were off to the beach, back for lunch, then we'd hang by the pool in the afternoon most days. She was OBSESSED with swimming. She would have stayed in the water all day I think. She would get excited as Brian walked toward the water with her. She really was an absolute joy to be around, but then, she usually is! Even when we pushed her a little past her bedtime she handled it well. One night we ditched the bath before bedtime and took her swimming instead. It was awesome - my parents were out and we left my sisters and Nick downtown b/c we wanted to get Payton back and ready for bed so it was just the three of us and it is now one of my favorite memories. Not that being with the family wasn't great, b/c it was, but there was something about hanging out in that environment as a family of three that was really special. And it was great that everyone else got to do their own thing too. Another night we left Payton with Memere and Grampy and just us "kids" went on a party bus barhopping around the islands local bars - another fun night for the books! I've posted a few of my fave pics but there are so many I couldn't put them all up. All in all, it was an unbelievable week - lots of free rum punch, tons of laughs, and most of all, lots of memories! Getting home on the other hand...yikes. When leaving aruba, you have to be at the airport three hours early. You go through security twice, check your bags twice, and go through US customs. We all got through with no problems, but that meant now we had two and a half hours to kill....with a baby. We got lucky and she fell asleep on me for about 45 minutes and then it was time to get on the plane. We were heading into a storm so the landing was a bit tricky. We started to descend two different times and were sent back up...each time going through lots of turbulence. I had payton in a wrap type thing so she wouldn't get bounced around. Not that she cared, she ate and fell asleep during the entire process. We landed an hour late, took forever to get our luggage, then had a shuttle ride to our car, and a two hour ride home, in the pouring rain. No fun. But if that was the price we had to pay for having an amazing week, then it was ok with us! Hope you enjoy the pics :)
Second half of the summer...
So much to write about! The second half of our summer was just as much fun as the first half. Possibly even more fun b/c Payton has changed so much even since june! She interacts so much more these days. She's now sitting up on her own, slithering around on her belly, making all kinds of noises, raspberries and clicking her tongue are her favorites! She's such a smiley, happy gal! Since I last wrote, we took a trip to Boston to see some friends, went to a zoo, had some play dates, spent a weekend at the lake in VT with my family and Brian's family, went to Wolf Lake in NY with Brian's cousins, and finally, went to Aruba! Payton has been in a kayak, a boat, a taxi, on a city bus, and a plane. We were so fortunate to be able to do all of those things, thank God for an easy going baby! She's such a trooper. I posted some pics of her at all of those places. I'll do a seperate post for Aruba just b/c it was a week long trip so there's so much to talk about!
We went to the zoo with our friends Maggie, Dave, and their son Chase who is almost exactly a month older than PRO. It was probably more entertaining for us than for them but we have the memories recorded so that's what matters! They are going to be so much fun to watch as they grow up. We were also able to hang out with Dan, Erin, and their daughter Maddie who is almost exactly three months younger than PRO. All these kids! The years to come will be filled with lots of fun get togethers!
We had a great time at Wolf Lake with the younger Osterhout clan. The weather was great, and everyone really enjoyed watching Payton and Matthew, they are very entertaining :) Just wait until next year! Oh boy....
This is the second year in a row we've done a Pindar/Osterhout weekend in VT, and the second one was just as successful as the first! We had such a great weekend...Payton is pretty lucky to have the chance to spend a whole weekend with both sets of grandparents. Of course, I forgot my camera that weekend, unbelievable. We did a lot of jet skiing, eating, drinking, kayaking, swimming, etc. Great times! Hopefully next year we can get ALL of payton's aunts there!
Payton has done so much during her first 8 months of life - too bad she won't remember any of it....but we will :)

Yanks game!!!
Yesterday we took my dad and Bri's dad to the yankee game for their father's day present. Thought it would be cool to bring Payton's yankee fan grandpa's along to her first Yanks game! Well it definitely wasn't COOL...it was sooo hot! We were hoping for an overcast day, and every now and then the sun did go behind the clouds but it wasn't often enough. Luckily, our seats were on an aisle, and right below one of the food courts so shade and a nice breeze was never more than 10 steps away. we all took turns bringing payton into the shade which was a huge help! She was a little cranky in the beginning but after her bottle and a little lunch, she was great. When we first got there she would get scared and start crying when everyone cheered, by the time we were ready to leave she was laughing and cheering right along! Her poor little face was red and sweaty but she was a trooper. And we managed to leave with no sun burn, thank God! The way home was a bit shaky b/c we were stuck in traffic and it took us twice as long to get home. So not only was she hot, she was tired, hungry, you name it! Even then she was fairly tolerant. When we got home we threw in the tub and she was happy as a clam until she went to bed a short time later. It was a great day, and I can't wait for her to look at the pics above to see how much fun she had! Oh, and the Yanks won 10-6 :)
Fun weekend!
We had a great summer weekend - complete with a country concert, a day by the pool, and a day of outlet shopping for us girls and golf for the guys! Friday night Brian and i left payton with my parents and we went to see tim mcgraw. It was the first time leaving her for that long so it was a little scary but I just tried not to think about it and have fun :) She ended up doing great, I wasn't surprised, she's a pretty good baby if I do say so myself! It ended up being a really late night, and of course, right when we got to bed, she woke up. She definitely isn't sleeping great anywhere but her own crib these days which is kind of a bummer. Saturday we hung out by the pool - Payton is OBSESSED with the water...I think we have a little fish on our hands. Hope it stays that way. Not sure what we'll do if any of our kids end up being scared of the water. On Sunday we headed down to Old Saybrook to see our friends Dan and Erin and their 3 1/2 month old Madeline. Erin and I took the girls to the outlets, they did great...born to shop i think! Brian and Dan went golfing and we all met up afterwards for lunch. It was a great day, a great weekend!
