Yesterday we took my dad and Bri's dad to the yankee game for their father's day present. Thought it would be cool to bring Payton's yankee fan grandpa's along to her first Yanks game! Well it definitely wasn't COOL...it was sooo hot! We were hoping for an overcast day, and every now and then the sun did go behind the clouds but it wasn't often enough. Luckily, our seats were on an aisle, and right below one of the food courts so shade and a nice breeze was never more than 10 steps away. we all took turns bringing payton into the shade which was a huge help! She was a little cranky in the beginning but after her bottle and a little lunch, she was great. When we first got there she would get scared and start crying when everyone cheered, by the time we were ready to leave she was laughing and cheering right along! Her poor little face was red and sweaty but she was a trooper. And we managed to leave with no sun burn, thank God! The way home was a bit shaky b/c we were stuck in traffic and it took us twice as long to get home. So not only was she hot, she was tired, hungry, you name it! Even then she was fairly tolerant. When we got home we threw in the tub and she was happy as a clam until she went to bed a short time later. It was a great day, and I can't wait for her to look at the pics above to see how much fun she had! Oh, and the Yanks won 10-6 :)

Fun weekend!
We had a great summer weekend - complete with a country concert, a day by the pool, and a day of outlet shopping for us girls and golf for the guys! Friday night Brian and i left payton with my parents and we went to see tim mcgraw. It was the first time leaving her for that long so it was a little scary but I just tried not to think about it and have fun :) She ended up doing great, I wasn't surprised, she's a pretty good baby if I do say so myself! It ended up being a really late night, and of course, right when we got to bed, she woke up. She definitely isn't sleeping great anywhere but her own crib these days which is kind of a bummer. Saturday we hung out by the pool - Payton is OBSESSED with the water...I think we have a little fish on our hands. Hope it stays that way. Not sure what we'll do if any of our kids end up being scared of the water. On Sunday we headed down to Old Saybrook to see our friends Dan and Erin and their 3 1/2 month old Madeline. Erin and I took the girls to the outlets, they did great...born to shop i think! Brian and Dan went golfing and we all met up afterwards for lunch. It was a great day, a great weekend!

enough is enough....
Enough slacking, I'm promising now to make more of an effort to update this blog! Payton is growing so fast, I'm really going to regret not keeping this thing up to date. On July 4th she celebrated her half birthday, so hard to believe it's been 6 months! We've been having a great summer so far. Payton has made a few trips up north to Grammy and Gramps lake house in VT, we've been to the beach, she's been swimming in Memere and Grampy's pool, enjoyed a ride on a carousel, watched some fireworks, and has visited and played with a bunch of her little friends! She's rolling over like a PRO and making all kinds of noises. Recently she's started to sleep through the night, not waking up to eat until 5 then going back down for another hour and a half to two hours! Mom and dad are pretty psyched about that! She takes great naps during the day which we are all thankful for :) Although there aren't any teeth to show for it just yet, she's been teething for a while. Drooling all over the place and everything goes right in the mouth. She has started to eat solids which she LOVES. We were just given the green light to start her on stage 2 foods so good bye boring apples, prunes, carrots, peas, etc. and hello veggie medleys, apple sweet potato, mac and cheese with veggies, and all kinds of other mixtures. At her 6 month appointment yesterday, she weighed in at 17.9lbs and measured 27.5 inches. That puts her in the 75th percentile for weight and the 95th percentile for height! She's very healthy and growing steadily. She also got her ears pierced at her appointment! She looks even cuter if that's possible! I've posted some pics that highlight the first half of our summer....enjoy!
